More about this artwork

"Paris In Spring" by Konstantin Alexeevich Korovin captures a vibrant, sun-drenched scene of Parisian life blossoming under the gentle warmth of spring. This impressionistic painting glows with light and color, featuring a lively street that leads the eye towards a majestic church standing prominently in the background. The verdant green of new leaves on the trees softly filters the sunlight, casting playful shadows on the figures strolling leisurely below.Korovin's brushwork is loose and expressive, contributing to the overall sense of movement and life in the painting. The architecture is rendered with just enough detail to convey its grandeur while allowing the viewer’s imagination to fill in the specifics. The foreground shows people engaged in everyday activities, possibly locals going about their daily routines, adding a human element to the charming urban landscape. This piece not only showcases Korovin's skill in capturing the essence of a place but also his ability to evoke the mood of a season, making the viewer almost feel the crispness of the spring air.

Konstantin Alekseyevich Korovin was a leading Russian Impressionist painter.

Konstantin was born in Moscow to a merchant family officially registered as "peasants of Vladimir Gubernia". His father, Aleksey Mikhailovich Korovin, earned a university degree and was more interested in arts and music than in the family business established by Konstantin's grandfather.
