More about this artwork

Artist:In the striking artwork "Pergalės žirgas," created by the talented Lithuanian artist Arūnas Rutkus in 2022, viewers are immediately captivated by the imposing figure of a horse, exquisitely rendered in a vibrant and textured style. Set against a serene blue backdrop that suggests a vast, open sky, the horse appears poised and dynamic, captured in mid-rear as if it has just triumphed over an unseen challenge. The horse's coat is adorned with intricate, golden symbols and patterns that evoke a sense of ancient mythology and regal symbolism. These markings suggest that the creature is not just any horse, but a being of significance, perhaps a divine or heroic entity. The use of cold blue and warm gold tones creates a striking contrast that adds depth and complexity to the image.Rutkus's use of texture is particularly noteworthy. The roughness in the mane and tail, along with the detailed, almost tactile quality of the patterns on the horse's body, bring the image to life, making the horse seem as though it might step out of the canvas at any moment."Pergalės žirgas" transcends the traditional portrayal of a horse to become a symbol of power, victory, and beauty. This artwork invites viewers to reflect on the themes of triumph and the eternal struggle against obstacles, resonating on both personal and universal levels.
