More about this artwork

"Vakaro Šviesa" (2017) by Arūnas Rutkus captivates with its mysterious and transcendent atmosphere. Dominating the canvas is a majestic figure astride a calm horse, set against a background bathed in golden hues, evoking the essence of evening light. The rider, adorned in a richly detailed and elaborate garment reminiscent of traditional Eastern textiles, appears both regal and ethereal. The patterns and decorations on the garment are intricate, suggesting a deep connection to cultural heritage and craftsmanship. The composition is balanced by the soothing, almost monochrome palette, primarily consisting of golds and browns that beautifully blend the figure with the surrounding landscape of tall, whispery grass. This unity creates a sense of harmony and peace. The rider's poised and graceful pose, with a hand delicately touching the head, adds to the overall serene and contemplative mood of the painting.Rutkus has masterfully captured not just an image but a moment of introspective stillness, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on the beauty and tranquility of the scene.
