More about this artwork
The painting depicts a single sunflower, rendered in fine detail against a plain, light background. The sunflower appears a bit wilted, with its bright yellow petals, some drooping, others slightly curled at the edges, radiating around a dark brown center. The textured brushstrokes suggest the fuzzy quality of the center and the smooth, silky texture of the petals. The flower is attached to a long, slender green stem, which bends gently and bears a single large, dark green leaf with visible veins.
