The figure itself is sketched with gentle yet confident strokes, emphasizing the contours and curves of the human body with a minimalist approach. The artwork's background maintains a natural, untouched look, which highlights the figure even more. The nuanced shading and the faint outline suggest not just the physical form but also an intimate, almost tender observation of the body’s poise and natural grace.Rodin's signature can be seen at the bottom right, lending authenticity to the work. The time-stained paper adds an element of age and history, suggesting that the viewer is looking back through time at this moment of artistic creation captured by Rodin. Rodin was born into a poor family. After earning a living through sculpting decorative stoneworks, he entered art school. He then applied a craftsman-like approach to his work and modeled the human body with the naturalism that latterly became his unique style. Considered as the founder of modern sculpture, Rodin's original works clashed with predominant figurative sculpture from traditional themes of mythology and allegory since he celebrated individual human physicality.
