More about this artwork
The etching titled "Vrouw met waaier" by Lucien Pissarro captures the tranquil grace of a woman standing under the embrace of a tree, her demeanor as serene as the lush landscape that surrounds her. The piece, which translates to "Woman with a Fan," portrays the figure holding a delicately patterned fan across her chest, an accessory that adds a touch of elegance and poise to her stance.Lucien Pissarro's expertise in etching is evident in the fine details and textures that create depth and atmosphere within this work. The soft folds of her dress and the intricate branches overhead show Pissarro's attention to the subtleties of light and shadow, while the distant city silhouette evokes a serene, pastoral setting that suggests a narrative beyond just a simple portrait.
