In the painting, a young woman is seated with her legs folded underneath her. She adorns a voluminous, semi-transparent purple tutu that softly catches the ambient light around her, giving off an ethereal glow. Her upper body leans forward slightly and her arms gracefully wrap around her shins while her head rests on her knees. Her expression, although partially obscured, appears contemplative and serene. The background is decidedly dark, contrasting with the light that illuminates her from one side, and highlights the delicate texture of her ballet attire and the soft skin tones of her face and legs.
