More about this artwork

Dive into the muted world of "Ulica na periférií," a captivating artwork by Konštantín Bauer from the period of 1924 to 1927. This painting offers viewers a glimpse into a serene, suburban landscape, depicted through the sensitive touch and subdued palette typical of Bauer's work. The composition centers around a gently curving street that guides the viewer's eye through the tranquil scene. On either side, modest houses, characterized by their textured facades and soft, earthy tones, nestle under a broad, overcast sky. A prominent smokestack in the background stands as a solitary reminder of the industrial activity that perhaps pulses quietly beyond this peaceful suburb.Bauer's use of pastel creates a dream-like quality, blurring the lines between reality and imagination, and imbuing the scene with a sense of timelessness and nostalgia. The overall effect is both calming and evocative, inviting the viewer to step into a moment of quiet amidst the everyday rhythms of life."Ulica na periférií" not only reflects Bauer's mastery of pastel techniques but also his ability to capture the essence of a locale with emotional depth and artistic sensitivity.
