More about this artwork

We are delighted to present a richly evocative landscape painting by the esteemed Austrian artist Marie Egner, titled "Late Summer on the Salzburger Moor near Untersberg." This splendid work captures the breathtaking scenery of the Austrian countryside, showcasing Egner's keen eye for natural beauty and her delicate yet vibrant brushwork. The painting transports viewers to the serene outskirts of Salzburg, near the imposing Untersberg mountain, depicted under a soft, expansive sky. The foreground of the painting is alive with lush, diverse vegetation; wildflowers in hues of yellow and white bloom vibrantly, dancing gently in the late summer breeze. The scene is further enriched with a tranquil stream, its clear blue waters mirroring the fleeting clouds above and creating a harmonious balance with the earthy tones of the moor. One's eyes can't help but wander to the rustic wooden structure on the right side of the canvas—perhaps a barn or a farmer's shelter—that adds a human element to the otherwise wild landscape. It suggests the peaceful coexistence of human life with nature, a recurring theme in Egner's artwork.Marie Egner's "Late Summer on the Salzburger Moor near Untersberg" is more than just a visual treat; it is a soulful representation of Austrian rural life and the unchanging beauty of nature.
