More about this artwork

The painting displays a vibrant array of floral designs, segmented into four quadrants with distinct backgrounds and color schemes. The top left quadrant features large, stylized flowers in purple, blue, and orange hues against a green backdrop. The upper right quadrant presents bold, red flowers accented with blue leaves on a deep blue background. In the lower left, marigold-colored flowers contrast with a dark, almost black background, surrounded by silhouettes of floral shapes and leaves. The bottom right quadrant depicts a bouquet of small, delicate flowers arranged in a blue vase, set against a split background of salmon pink and pale cream.

Emile-Alain Séguy was a French 20th century artist. He produced eleven albums inspired by insects, butterflies and nature, with intricate Art Nouveau and brightly colored Art Deco geometric floral patterns. He used a unique printing technique called Pochoir, the method of applying pigment to paper through stencils.
