Venus is depicted with an ethereal elegance, her body luxuriously relaxed and slightly turned towards the viewer, which enhances her allure and the intimate feel of the composition. The flowing lines and soft hues contribute to a sense of movement and liveliness, as if caught in a gentle marine breeze.Boucher’s use of chalk on paper lends a softness that is perfect for capturing the light and fluidity integral to both the subject and Rococo style.
