In the painting, three ballerinas in delicately embellished pink tutus are portrayed in a backstage setting. They are seated together, yet each is absorbed in her own thoughts. The central figure gently handles a single, vivid red rose while her companions look on, their faces reflecting a mix of contemplation and exhaustion. The room is dimly lit by natural light streaming through a large window, casting soft highlights on their skin and costumes.
