More about this artwork

"Seaward Skerries" (1913) is an evocative etching by the renowned Swedish artist Anders Zorn, depicting a tranquil coastal scene. The artwork features two figures, possibly basking in the natural beauty of a serene seascape. One figure stands confidently atop a rocky outcrop, gazing across the water, while the other cautiously navigates near the water's edge, dipping a foot into the shimmering sea.Zorn's masterful use of line in this etching captures the rugged textures of the rocks against the soft, expansive water stretching into the horizon. The scene conjures a sense of freedom and contemplation, inviting viewers to reflect on the timeless allure of nature and the human connection to it.
