More about this artwork

The painting captures a serene riverside scene in Chartèves, featuring a calm river that gently reflects its lush surroundings. Two figures occupy a small wooden boat, one seeming to prepare a net, fostering a sense of quietude and daily rural activity. Nearby on the bank, another individual fishes, enhancing the themes of tranquility and the connection between humans and nature. The landscape is richly painted with autumnal colors; golden yellow trees to the left contrast vibrantly against a grassy hillside. A quaint village nestles in the mid-distance beneath a soft sky, suggesting a harmonious blend of nature and rural life.
