More about this artwork

The painting features a collection of vibrant and colorful floral patterns arranged in a grid of three distinct sections. In the top section, there is a lively depiction of white and green leaf-like patterns interspersed with brown and yellow fig-shaped motifs on a light background. This pattern emits an energetic and fresh aesthetic. The bottom left section presents a bold contrast with dark, swirling patterns resembling ferns or peacock feathers in black and brown, set against a vivid red background with pink circular accents. The third section on the bottom right shows a more subdued pattern with olive and dark green foliage mixed with yellow shapes, possibly fruits, against a somber brown background.

Emile-Alain Séguy was a French 20th century artist. He produced eleven albums inspired by insects, butterflies and nature, with intricate Art Nouveau and brightly colored Art Deco geometric floral patterns. He used a unique printing technique called Pochoir, the method of applying pigment to paper through stencils.
