The painting features a stark, mostly monochrome composition centered around a deep black V-shaped form that plunges from the top to the lower center of the canvas. This black shape creates a sharp contrast against the otherwise bright white background. Within this dark V, a subtle Christian cross is visible, composed of a vertical and a horizontal line that intersect gently. Below the cross, the V shape seems to dissolve into or emerge from a cloud of small black dots that scatter downwards.The lower part of the painting shows the upper torso of a person, dressed in a wrinkled white shirt with sleeves pushed up to the elbows, suggesting a moment of either preparation or rest. The shirt appears textured, adding a sense of depth and realism to the work. This figure is cut off at the midsection by the lower end of the canvas, focusing the viewer's attention on the upper body, and particularly where the hands might have been, which are absent from the view, increasing the abstract and mysterious quality of the piece.
