Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875–1911) is one of the most prominent figures in Lithuanian culture, leaving an indelible mark on European art history. In just ten years of creativity, he composed around four hundred musical pieces, including symphonic poems, an overture, a cantata, sonatas, and variation cycles for piano, a string quartet, and choral works. Simultaneously, in a six-year painting career, he created over three hundred paintings and numerous graphic works. Čiurlionis also left behind literary and poetic works, engaged in journalism, experimented with artistic photography, and had interests in geology, history, chemistry, physics, astronomy, astrology, mythology, languages, philosophy, and religions.
