More about this artwork

The scene captures a stark, serene winter evening, centered around a dark silhouette of a quaint cottage. Its sloping roof and visible chimney create a sharp contrast against the luminous golden-yellow backdrop, suggestive of either a setting sun or a brightly lit horizon. Only one window of the house is aglow, offering a warm, inviting speck amidst the darker tones. Surrounding the house, leafless trees, detailed with intricate, fine branches, stretch upwards, their forms distinct against the glowing sky. To the right, tall, slender trees, likely poplars, line the view, directing the eye upwards while framing the house gently.
