In the artwork, a mime with a subtle and contemplative expression stands poised against a muted background. The mime, dressed in traditional black attire complete with a bowler hat, cradles his chin in one hand, seemingly lost in thought. The other hand slightly grips his wrist. His face is painted white, accentuating his solemn facial expression and deep-set eyes. Surrounding him are pigeons; one gracefully landing on his forearm, another perched comfortably on his shoulder, and a third bird spreads its wings in flight close to him. The interaction between the mime and the birds, along with his introspective pose, gives the scene a poignant mixture of serenity and melancholy.
