More about this artwork

Arūnas Rutkus, a prominent Lithuanian artist, delivers a striking visual experience with his painting "Raudona Kepurė II" (Red Hat II), crafted in 2007. This evocative piece showcases a melding of abstract and realistic elements, enveloped in a rich tapestry of crimson hues.In this painting, Rutkus masterfully captures the allure and mystery of a figure partially obscured by a wide-brimmed red hat adorned with intricate, textured patterns and a curtain of delicate, bead-like strands. The hat not only serves as a dramatic focal point but also invites viewers to delve into an exploration of identity and concealment. Beneath the brim, the soft, almost pensive features of a face emerge, further enhancing the enigmatic quality of the work. The textured surface of the canvas suggests depth and complexity, reflecting Rutkus’ aptitude for layering both color and conceptual richness. With "Raudona Kepurė II," Arūnas Rutkus continues to challenge and captivate, offering a canvas that intrigues the eyes and stirs the imagination. This piece is a testament to his skill in creating compelling visual narratives that resonate with a broad audience.
