His dark hair and mustache are neatly groomed, framing his face which is lit subtly, highlighting his eyes and the texture of his skin.He is dressed in a dark, formal jacket with a high, folded collar and a crisply tied cravat, which speaks to the styles of the era and adds to the dignified air that surrounds him. The choice of clothing and the style of the portrait suggest a man of significance during his time, perhaps reflecting his professional status or social role.Halász-Hradil, known for his skill in capturing the essence of his subjects, employs a soft yet precise touch in his brushwork. The play of light and shadow in the painting adds depth and volume to the portrait, making Imrich Szabó appear both imposing and accessible. This portrait not only showcases the artist’s mastery of form and atmosphere but also immortalizes Imrich Szabó, offering viewers a glimpse into a moment captured from a bygone era.
