Another figure, clad in a bathing suit, sits poised on the edge of a wooden boat, elegantly dipping a paddle into the reflective pool. The background features a third figure, lounging in the boat, immersed in a book, epitomizing the leisurely pace and luxurious lifestyle often depicted in Barbier’s works.Exquisitely detailed, the image is framed by drooping willow branches, which add a sense of peaceful seclusion and harmony with nature. The use of soft pastel tones and the flat, linear quality of the forms are distinctive of the Art Deco style, emphasizing clarity, grace, and the ornamental."L’Eau" not only reflects Barbier’s artistic prowess but also serves as a visual escape to a tranquil, almost otherworldly setting where water is both a playground and a place of rest.
