The dress is primarily black with a prominent pink center panel that runs the full length of the garment. There's a stylish white collar with a black tie, along with matching white cuffs that have black buttons. The figure is accessorized with a simple yet fashionable black hat.The manner in which the woman stands, with one hand extended and the other on her hip, exudes a sense of poise and confidence. The artwork suggests a strong influence from the Art Deco movement, known for its sleek geometric forms and elegant, meticulous design. The simplified yet expressive features of the woman’s face, the minimalistic style, and the clean, straight lines are characteristic of Lendecke's work and contribute to the overall sophistication and modernity of the piece. The texture and shading in the pink section of the dress add depth and movement, making it a focal point of the design. In essence, Lendecke’s painting is an elegant celebration of contemporary fashion of his time, highlighting the beauty and style not just through the attire, but also through the composed and confident demeanor of the depicted figure.
