More about this artwork

This painting by Hannah Borger Overbeck, titled "Green Geometric," features a spirited and intriguing display of botanical elements merged with geometric abstraction. The predominant hues of green and gray establish a serene, organic feel, while the structured shapes of the green forms intersect with flowing, leaf-like gray lines imitating natural growth patterns. The green shapes bob and weave through the composition like leaves or petals, but their geometric forms suggest a stylized or abstract interpretation rather than a direct representation of natural objects. This type of motif could be seen as exploring the intersection between the natural world and human artistic expression, focusing on the way structured forms can represent organic, ever-changing growth. Moreover, the textural qualities in the artwork introduce an additional layer of depth and interest, suggesting either a printmaking or painting technique that complements the overall ethereal yet systematic aesthetic. This piece communicates a sense of calm and balance through its color choice and composition, reflecting a harmonious coexistence of the natural and the geometrical.
