His facial expression conveys agony and determination, suggesting his grim resolve in the face of mortality. The details in the expression and posture of Zidén give viewers a vivid sense of his heroic struggle.Beside him, another soldier is present, this one crouching low, possibly seeking cover or in aid of Zidén.
