The painting captures an iris in rich detail. The petals are wide, their surfaces textured with fine, densely packed lines, suggesting softness and movement. At the heart of the flower, dark shading enhances the intricate forms of smaller, furled petals, adding depth and contrast. One long, slender leaf gently curves away from the iris, its edges loosely defined yet graceful.
