Martynas Ivinskas is an artist hailing from Kaunas, Lithuania, and now divides his time living and working between Los Angeles, USA, and Vilnius, Lithuania. His creative philosophy disregards traditional artistic forms and instruments, embracing a free-spirited approach. Often referred to as a true libertarian in the art realm, Ivinskas relies on materials that happen to be at hand, infusing his process with both spontaneity and experimentation.

Ivinskas’s art frequently appears on atypical surfaces, including jute coffee sacks and city maps. Repeated themes in his work feature musicians and musical instruments, elements he uses to draw attention to lines and shapes that may otherwise escape notice. In addition, he probes the intersections among sculpture, collage, painting, and everyday objects, providing observers with a vision of what has been called “organized chaos”—a carefully pieced-together reality that reflects his unique artistic voice.

Over the course of his career, Ivinskas has presented numerous solo exhibitions across Lithuania and the United States. Recent notable shows include those at Hangar Gallery in Santa Monica (2019), Bruce Lurie Gallery in Culver City (2017), and Vilnius City Hall (2015). His art has also appeared in both public and private settings, such as the Presidential Palace in Vilnius and a range of local galleries, demonstrating his adaptability and commitment to engaging a wide audience.

Beyond his solo projects, Ivinskas has also taken part in multiple group exhibitions on the international stage. Noteworthy participations include group shows at the Consulate General of Lithuania in Los Angeles, The Hoyt Gallery, Paris’s Musee du Louvre during the Fifth Annual Exposure Award, and New York City’s Times Square. These events illustrate his ongoing involvement in the global art community and the increasing recognition he has garnered in both Europe and the United States.
