Dark, rolling clouds loom above, suggesting the end of a day and perhaps the approach of a quiet night. The composition balances the vastness of the sky and sea with the rugged, detailed textures of the shore and rock formations. On the cliffs to the right, ancient ruins add a sense of timeless mystery to the scene, hinting at the long history of human habitation along this coastal area. Foreground figures, two women and a man in traditional attire, provide a human element, evoking stories of local life and culture.
